Montane Apex 8000 Down Suit – XL – Jacket & Salopettes – Red​/​Black Matching Montane Apex 8000 expedition down suit, consisting of the Apex 8000 Down Jacket and Apex 8000 Down Salopettes. Both pieces are size XL. This is serious high-altitude and extreme cold expedition kit, designed for 8000m environments, polar conditions, high camps and winter mountaineering. Very warm, excellent freedom of movement, and designed as a proper expedition system rather than ordinary outdoor clothing. The jacket has travelled to Aconcagua twice and was used twice at high camps. The salopettes were packed and carried but have never been worn. Condition is excellent ​/​ like new. No rips, tears, repairs, defects or known issues. Down loft is excellent and the suit has been stored carefully. Only selling because I have lost weight and resized myself, so the XL is now too large for me. It is too good a piece of kit to sit unused. Ideal for Aconcagua, Denali, Himalaya, polar travel, extreme cold expeditions, winter camps or serious high-altitude mountaineering.

This suit was bought for high-altitude expedition use and has travelled with me to Aconcagua twice. The jacket was used twice at high camps, where it did exactly what this level of kit is supposed to do: keep you warm, protected and able to move properly in serious cold. The salopettes were packed and carried but never worn. I’m selling because I’ve lost weight and the XL is now too large for me. It is excellent kit and deserves to go to someone heading somewhere cold, high or properly committing — not sit in a cupboard waiting for a mountain I’m not climbing yet.
